Body Casting with Community Series

$0.00

My artwork takes many forms, from recording the body in motion to creating haunted portals of nature. I invite people to participate in my art by making body casts and self-portraits in nature, believing that beauty, art, and freedom are interconnected. By fostering community through these practices, I aim to enhance the world's beauty.

My work explores the complexity of being in a body using video sculptures, casting events, and everyday objects transformed into meaningful experiences. Vibrant colors, movement, and sound animate my sculptures, like videos placed behind mason jars filled with water to create moving vignettes. This interplay between the familiar and unknown reflects our ever-evolving identities. Moving out of the pandemic, I began organizing bodycasting events where participants cast hand gestures representing significant experiences. This practice continues with women, particularly mothers and queer individuals, to explore gender and sexual expectations within patriarchal frameworks.
