Bodies speak for freedom in times of restriction

Body casting with Community: mothers & daughters

Kimberlee Koym-Murteira will be held bodycasting events especially with Mothers & daughter

leading up to the election. Exhibition@Dream Farm Commons Sept 14th, CSU East Bay Oct 8th to Dec 5th

As women are stripped of reproductive rights and LGBTQIA communities face marginalization, Koym-Murteira’s art offers healing and empowerment.  She combines ancient techniques like body casting with digital tools to celebrate women and queer bodies.

In cultivating emergent strategies to meet future challenges Koym-Murteira gathers mothers and daughters. By involving young women, many first-time voters this year, she aims to ignite their sense of agency and power. Together, we spark this feeling within each person, enabling them to tap into and grow this resource later. We link individuals within a community, forging stronger connections and widening our impact.
